Most of our fossil fish come from the Green River formation in Wyoming. Fossil Lake has a reputation of supplying the best quality fish fossils in the world. The fish found here are about 50 million years old from the period called the Eocene.

Found on a light coloured limestone shale, the darker fish fossils boast excellent detail of bone and fin structures.

With sizes ranging from three inches to three feet, and prices from ten dollars to ten thousand dollars, a perfect specimen can be found for almost everyone.
